About JulieAnn Mills Testi
Artist, public speaker and advocate of those with disabilities
JulieAnn Mills-Testi was born with a disability called Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita. In other words, her nervous system never connected properly which caused the muscles not to develop and joints locked into position. Therefore, JulieAnn cannot use her arms/hands and has limited use of her legs/feet.
Unable to use her arms and hands, JulieAnn paints and writes by holding a brush / pencil in her teeth. In fact she does everything with her teeth, which also includes caring for her family and managing household duties.
At a young age, JulieAnn’s mother introduced her to the world of art and the Mouth and Foot Painting Artists. Seeing the works of art by the Mouth and Foot Painting Artists, JulieAnn was/ is inspired by their art. In 1972 JulieAnn’s art adventure began at the Anaheim Cultural Center Summer School Art Program. The Art Instructor, impressed by JulieAnn’s art abilities, continued JulieAnn’s art training—private art lessons.
After High School JulieAnn attended Cypress Community College CA, where she earned an A.A. Degree in Studio and Fine Arts. JulieAnn earned a B.A. Degree in Art at Loyola Marymount University, in Los Angeles, CA.
Currently, JulieAnn is working for The Mouth and Foot Painting Artists, and designs paintings for sale. She has worked for THASC and designed specialty cards. Her works of art have won a multitude of awards.
JulieAnn also enjoys family life, expanding her knowledge in art, singing, scrapbooking, and the great outdoors. She gives all glory and thanks to God for her talent. And gives many thanks to her parents, family and friends for their loving support.
JulieAnn currently resides with her husband and their 2 children in Oregon.
